Iran complained to the United Nations on Sunday and summoned the Swiss ambassador in Tehran, who represents U.S. interests in the Islamic Republic, over possible measures Washington could take against an Iranian fuel shipment to Venezuela.

The oil sectors of Iran and Venezuela, members of OPEC, are both under U.S. sanctions.

美国媒体人拉尼娅·哈利克（Rania Khalek）早在四月就发布了一则推特视频，痛批美国政府在疫情期间对他国实施制裁行为无异于“谋杀”。

在视频中，哈利克指出在新冠肺炎疫情之前，美国的制裁措施导致一些国家民众无法获得急需药物，一年内致4万多人死亡。

"Long before coronavirus was even a thing US sanctions had already killed an estimated 40,000 people in a single year, mostly by blocking access to life saving medications that threat illnesses such as HIV."

她提到当新冠病毒影响全人类健康安全、联合国秘书长古特雷斯呼吁“全球停火集中抗疫”时，美国的“帝国主义病毒”却仍在制造威胁，干扰伊朗、委内瑞拉等国抗疫。

"The UN secretary general has called for an immediate global ceasefire to help fight the actual global threat we all face that is COVID-19, or coronavirus. But none of this matters to the other pandemic threatening the world: US imperialism."

她直指在这样一个疫情肆虐的情况下继续实施制裁措施就是“一场谋杀”，但美国的一些政客却对此毫不在意。

哈利克批评民主党总统候选人拜登对伊朗的疫情情况“选择性失明”。

"Enough information？Have you read the news out of Iran? Tens of thousands are infected and thousands have died and they don't have the medical supplies to treat people because of US sanctions."

国务卿蓬佩奥将新冠肺炎疫情视作打击伊朗的机会。

"Sanctioning impoverished countries right now is murder. Mike Pompeo knows that. But where a human might see a horrifying recipe for mass death and seek to help, Pompeo sees an opportunity to punish Iran by maximizing the casualties."

此外，她还指出美国政府妄图“甩锅”中国，以转移民众对其抗疫不力的批评。哈利克用嘲讽的口吻指出美国政府的做法是在开启“冷战2.0”模式。

"The propaganda apparatus blames China for the virus to deflect from their own ineptitude in stopping the spread. Hey, there's no better time than a pandemic to escalate Cold War 2.0!"

对外施加制裁影响他国抗疫，对内美国政府应对疫情也是“一团糟”。

5月15日，哈利克在推特再发视频，痛斥美国政府应对疫情的失败，“用建设名义摧毁他国”，实则在将自己拖入“深渊”。

哈利克表示，正是因为政府抗疫不力，使疫情对美国社会造成了一系列不利影响，也严重威胁着美国人民的生命健康安全。

“我们只占了世界人口的5%，但我们却占了世界新冠肺炎死亡病例的30%。”

根据美国约翰斯·霍普金斯的统计数据，目前美国新冠肺炎确诊病例已超过150万例，死亡病例已超过9万例。
